The Project
Westwood Bar & Grille is a new up-and-coming casual dining and cocktail restaurant in Maryland looking to bring elevated comfort food and a welcoming, neighborhood vibe to its community. I was tasked with creating a full visual identity that would capture this vision and translate it across all customer touch-points.
I designed a modern, hand-lettered logo paired with a clean, approachable typeface for the tagline, creating a brandmark that feels both friendly and polished. The color palette and type choices were developed to convey warmth while maintaining a contemporary edge. To bring the identity to life, I created a printed menu that highlights both upscale entrées and casual starters with a clear visual hierarchy and appetizing photography. I also designed a playful yet sophisticated takeaway box, incorporating a pattern of line-drawn burgers (the oh-so-famous Westwood Burger) and bold branding, as well as a concept for exterior signage that ensures the brand is recognizable and inviting from the street.
This project is ongoing, and I continue to consult with the owners as they prepare for their grand opening.
The Results
Although the restaurant has not yet opened, the branding has been met with enthusiasm and satisfaction by the owners, who feel it perfectly captures the personality they envisioned for Westwood Bar & Grille. The visual identity is versatile, easy to extend to future collateral, and already generating excitement among the team and early stakeholders.
